Overview of Virginia ACP

Who is eligible?

Survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, and human trafficking are eligible for Virginia’s ACP.


Who is covered?

Minor children, dependents, guardians, and other persons living in the household of an eligible applicant are covered by Virginia’s ACP.


How does the application process work?

Virginia ACP applicants are not required to work with an approved application assistant when filling out the application. However, applicants must email or call the office to obtain an application. Applicants must confirm they are eligible for the program but no additional evidence or action with law enforcement is required.


How does the program protect your address information?

Once admitted into Virginia’s ACP, a participant will be assigned a substitute mail forwarding address for 3 years. This address may be used to register to vote or enroll in school, purchase property, or obtain a marriage license or driver’s license.
