Overview of Louisiana ACP

Who is eligible?

Survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking are eligible for Louisiana’s ACP. In some cases, survivors of other forms of abuse may be eligible.


Who is covered?

Minor children, dependents or guardians living in the household of an eligible applicant are covered by Louisiana’s ACP.


How does the application process work?

Louisiana ACP applicants must apply with an approved application assistant when filling out the application. Applicants must confirm they are eligible for the program and that to the best of their knowledge their address is not already publicized. However, no additional evidence or action with law enforcement is required.


How does the program protect your address information?

Once admitted into Louisiana’s ACP, a participant will be assigned a substitute mail forwarding address for 4 years. This address may be used to register to vote or enroll in school or obtain a marriage license or driver’s license.
