Overview of Illinois ACP

Who is eligible?

Survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking are eligible for Illinois’ ACP.


Who is covered?

Minor children, dependents or guardians, and other persons living in the household of an eligible applicant are covered by Illinois’ ACP.


How does the application process work?

Illinois ACP applicants may apply directly to the Attorney General’s office by submitting an online application or mailing a completed application to: Office of the Illinois Attorney General Address Confidentiality Program, 100 West Randolph Street, 13th FloorChicago, IL 60601. Applicants must confirm they are eligible for the program but no additional evidence or action with law enforcement is required.


How does the program protect your address information?

Once admitted into Illinois’ ACP, a participant will be assigned a substitute mail forwarding address for 4 years. This address may be used to register to vote or enroll in school or obtain a marriage license or driver’s license.
