Overview of Maine ACP

Who is eligible?

Survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and stalking are eligible for Maine’s ACP.


Who is covered?

Minor children, dependents or guardians living in the household of an eligible applicant are covered by Maine’s ACP.


How does the application process work?

Maine ACP applicants must apply with an approved application assistant when filling out the application. Applicants must confirm they are eligible for the program but no additional evidence or action with law enforcement is required.


How does the program protect your address information?

Once admitted into Maine’s ACP, a participant will be assigned a substitute mail forwarding address for 4 years. This address may be used to register to vote or enroll in school, obtain a marriage license or driver’s license.
